HELP US NAME OUR NEW CAT!

This is our new kitty.
Kelly wanted me to post a blog about her
but she doesn't really have a name yet.
So, I've decided to have a on-line vote.
Please vote for your favorite of these four names:
SASHA, RAINBOW, GRACE or JETTA.

We thank-you for your vote.

The Great Junkyard in the Sky

Nebraska to Utah,
Lake Powell to Vegas,
LA to NY,
DC to New Orleans,
Louisiana to Montana,
Whitefish to Seattle.
The Jetta has passed
and has been passed by
her last car.
She will be missed.

My heart lurched with the Jetta as the transmission clunk-clunked

at Snoqualmie, the final mountain pass before entering Seattle.

That smell of burning lubricants on hot engine wafted in

as her tranny fluids spilled over the highway.

We were lucky to make it to my friend's place.

The transmission transfusion failed.

After the fifth time she slipped out of gear and refused to slip back in,

during a valiant attempt to go to an art store downtown Seattle,

I knew it was time to pull the plug.

The auto doctors concurred.

How was I going to tell my wife? Ugh!

Fortunately, the Jetta was an organ donor

and through America's Car Donation Charities Center

her working parts will be collected to raise money

for W.O.M.A.N. (Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent)

plus they'll give us a tax-deductible receipt and tow the car for free.

Here are my final pics of her as I said good-bye

before catching the train back to Whitefish.

We may post more stories about the Jetta in the future as remembering is part of the grieving process for us and if any of you have your own memories of her, please jot 'em down in the comments, we'd love to read them. Thanks for your thoughts and support!

Molly's Third Birthday

Good Golly Miss Molly is Three!
Molly had a small gathering of friends and family to celebrate the occasion of her turning three fingers.

Cupcakes, Candles and Fun!
Did anyone get the memo? Molly loves horses!
Three stuffed horses, the DVD for the movie "Flicka"
and a necklace with a horse pendant were among her gifts.

What We Don't Need for X-mas this Year

Welcome to

That's right, an extended multi-raced family of sixty-four men, women and children plus elephants, horses and pets galore all living within the confines of Sophie and Molly's closet.

I'm not sure this is even legal, so please help us with our zero growth policy for Barbie Land,
it'll be appreciated.

HALLOWEEN FUN

We celebrated Halloween for days and days...

Pumpkin Carving Saturaday

Saturday Night - Adult Costume Party

Sophie's Princess Costume Party - Monday Night

Then on Halloween, we threw Sophie's First Grade Halloween Party
complete with bobbing for apples, guess what your eating, relay races
and other activities. We didn't get any photos ourselves but you can
get a feel for it by visiting http://wfps.k12.mt.us/muldown/default.htm
and following the Halloween link. You can also check out Sophie's first
grade web site by following the classrooms, to first grade, to Mrs. Baldwin's
classroom.

Then we Trick-or-Treated for a few hours.

"I'm just glad Halloween only comes once a year!"
